Queen Victoria's visit.

[edit]

The date is wrong - she was long dead by the date given. Typo? 1835? Fenlandier (talk) 11:28, 18 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

yes, adjusted. thanks. Dormskirk (talk) 11:33, 18 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Current and recent ownership

[edit]

Some information on the current set up would be informative Fenlandier (talk) 11:31, 18 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If you have a reliable source (see WP:RS), please feel free to insert the current ownership. Dormskirk (talk) 11:39, 18 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The building is split into two. The first storey is occupied by Wisbech town council, they have the stairway from the left hand door, a toilet off the stairs and then the 1st floor councilchamber and offices. The Hall, cellars etc belongs to the Jacobs family and was closed in the early 1980s. A trust has now been formed. Fenlandier (talk) 09:40, 6 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You will need a reliable source to insert anything on ownership by the Jacobs family. Best wishes, Dormskirk (talk) 09:48, 6 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Issues over terminology

[edit]

This article is intended to be about a listed building constructed in 1811. The listing details describe the whole building and my understanding, from the listing details, is that the whole building is listed. My understanding, from the section above, is that the ground floor, which is also described in detail in the listing particulars, is in separate ownership. It therefore would be helpful if the editor who keeps trying to changing the lead so that it just refers to the "Wisbech Town Council Chamber" would please leave the lead as it is. Conversely if the editor has a reliable independent source which contradicts the section above, they should produce it. Thank you. Dormskirk (talk) 12:01, 27 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
